With the latest push on their fashion store offering, Amazon has further extended the scope of their ability to serve customers literally everything that they could think of buying online but if you are thinking that you would love to add a new pair of Birkenstock sandals to your shoe collection, you better think twice about buying from the retail giant.
With the iconic footwear brand already revealing their latest collection of colourful sandals for both men and women, we know that at least one pair may have caught your attention but for those of you that didn’t know, Birkenstock is one of a number of brands that have once again refused to sell through the Amazon marketplace, signalling their willingness to once again boycott one of the most popular online retailers on the planet.
According to sources, Birkenstock made the decision not to support the Amazon Fashion push once again due to the high number of counterfeit (fake) products that are sold on there that brandish their name and as a step to help their customers to ensure that they are getting real Birkenstock products, they believe that the best course of action is to reveal that they do not support or sell their products on the Amazon marketplace.
The loss of such an iconic brand’s support for their venture will have been a small blow to Amazon’s hopes of creating a new powerhouse within the fashion retail marketplace but with many other top brands already using their service, we are sure that the pain won’t have lasted a moment.
Amazon spoke out about their stance on counterfeit products being sold via their marketplace and stated that they were committed to trying to eliminate such products from being offered for sale on their site but with the sale of counterfeit products so wide spread, we know that they are embarking on a challenge that they are unlikely to win.
